As Streets Sit in Dead Silence (Credit to Guest_LittleLamb821)

Ava finally cracked a grin and shuffled her feet a few times, staring at the ground uncertainly. At last, her grip on the blanket loosened and she watched as it fluttered to the ground. Blushing red, she took his hand in hers and led them into the shower. The warm water felt good against her skin and helped to soothe her tangled nerves. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a delicious kiss.

Kuroku finally pulled himself out of the bed he had been laying in with Ava and got dressed. He looked down at her sleeping form and smiled and poked her in the side and whispered, "Well come on wake up it is time to get going. You can ride on my back if you like. It is still very early in the morning and we need to get out of her before the sun fully rises."

Ava mumbled something incoherently, her face buried in a pillow. It was almost strange how on any other day, she would have been up and ready. Admittedly, she felt a lot safer now in the company of Kuroku. Finally, she rolled over onto her back and looked sleepily at him. “Time to go?” she murmured quietly, still feeling heavy with sleep. She sighed and slipped out of the bed and slowly got dressed. “Okay, I’m ready,” she announced as she ran her fingers through her silvery hair to loosen the tangles.

Kuroku smiled and kissed her lightly on the forehead and then walked over to the wall and kicked open a large trunk, "Hmmm I wonder what I should take with me on to days adventure." He was looked to anyone else would have looked like a large trunk filled with enough weapons to supply a small army which is exactly what it was. He smiled and pulled out his scythe and a machine gun. He also grabbed a sawed off shot gun and a pistol. He looked at Ava and motioned her forward, "Take what you want."

Ava smiled giddily when he kissed her. “Right; an adventure. That’s what this is,” she muttered. For a moment she felt at odds with herself. Part of her wanted to stay down there and enjoy her time with Kuroku, but another part of her knew that she had to see the sky and breathe fresh air. Her eyes filled with childlike awe as she approached the large trunk. “Ooooooh,” she admired all the weaponry. Right about now, her handy dandy dagger no longer seemed so handy. She dug through the trunk like a child with a toy chest. She licked her lips and pulled out a pistol and Tommy gun (no idea if I actually spelled that right lol). “Okay, noooooooow I’m ready.” She grinned at Kuroku.

He laughed at her childlike exuberance. Motioned for her to follow him, "Well lets us go into the breach once more dear friend." He pressed a panel of the wall in and the wall slid forward and into the darkness. He turned of the lights and sat as though waiting for something. "We have to wait for our eyes to adjust." He whispered in a hushed tone. As their eyes slowly adjusted so did their ears and he heard them coming long before she did. "Here they come..." He out his scythe and ran forward to meet them after a few second he gasped and ran back and grabbed her. "We are leaving now!!" He kicked something and the wall slammed shut on his hideout. "There are far to many in this cramped place. We have to get out of here or they will over whelm us.

Ava grinned at hearing his laugh, for she liked being able to make him laugh. As soon as the wall slid open, she was all business though thoughts of Kuroku were never far from her thoughts. She looked at him strangely when he sat down and she nodded dumbly when he reasoned of waiting for their eyes to adjust. She crouched down beside him, fingering her dagger as they waited. Frowning, she wondered how he knew the infected where coming their way. Her heart started to beat faster when she heard the horrible sounds of the infected up ahead, and she felt ashamed in herself that she wasn’t exactly in her right state of mind. Hesitation made her wait for Kuroku to go out before she did and was mildly surprised when he quickly returned. “What happened? What did you see?” she asked frantically when he shut the wall. “How are we supposed to get out of here?”

Kuroku smiled and threw a grenade over his shoulder and ran a bit faster. He waited for a few seconds and heard the boom and the screams of the infected. He turned and stopped Ava at a ladder, "Well here we go up you go make it quick we have about 60s to get out of here before this turns into a inferno of death and fire." He looked at her smiling exuberantly.
